In 2008 Laura Jacobsen began her apprenticeship at Prince of Wales Hotel and Michael and Anna Olson’s café, Olson Foods at Ravine in Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario.
In 2010 she moved to Alberta to work for the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Here is where she met Byran Jacobsen, who had started his apprenticeship with Fairmont back in 2007.
Together they transferred to the Fairmont Southampton, in Bermuda before returning to Edmonton in 2015. Here Laura began teaching Culinary Arts for the Edmonton public school board. During that time Bryan went on to launch several successful restaurants in the artsy Whyte Avenu area in Edmonton.
In 2017 they moved to Victoria where Bryan assumed the role of Executive Chef at Royal Roads University. Laura has since expanded her focus into event planning.
Now, husband and wife, Bryan and Laura have combined their talents in the kitchen, specializing in gluten-free cooking using local ingredients.
